Sapodilla – sweet exoticism with a hint of caramel
Bring home a piece of the tropics with the beautiful sapodilla, an evergreen tree native to Mexico and Central America. You can grow this exotic treasure all year round in a container – by the window in your living room, or on the terrace or balcony during the summer.
Sapodilla will reward you with delicious fruits with juicy, grainy flesh, which with its sweet taste resembles a pear with a subtle caramel touch. The fruits are not only a delicacy, but also a real feast for the eyes – their light yellow to earthy brown color is as tempting as their aroma.
There are many bred varieties such as Silas Wood, Alano, Makok or Tikal. The seedlings we sell are Malay varieties are characterized by smaller, more elongated fruits with very aromatic flesh.
