It is grown in the tropics and subtropics around the world for its quality and tasty fruit, known as pitanga, or Brazilian cherry. The flesh of the fruit is sweet, pleasantly aromatic, with a taste similar to our cherry. They are eaten fresh or made into various syrups, jams and liqueurs. It is a very undemanding type of plant to grow. The minimum temperature in winter required for spawning is 10 C, but they need much less to survive. These are seedlings from seeds from fruits that we harvested in our garden in the Czech Republic. The fruits are red and very sweet. PRICE 12 EURO
